THE FWL?
COMICON MEETS UFC
The Foam Weapon League (FWL) is the world's first real-life fantasy combat sports league. Picture the spectacle of a sold-out comic convention colliding head-on with the raw, sweaty intensity of a UFC fight night — with a Slipknot concert blasting in the background. That's the FWL.
Warriors create original sci-fi and fantasy characters — unique names, jaw-dropping costumes, elaborate backstories — then step into the Circle of Combat, a reinforced steel-and-plexiglass octagonal cage, to wage war with weapons that look like they were ripped straight out of a fantasy armory.
Small bags of fake blood are hidden on each warrior's body. The objective is brutally simple: burst two of your opponent's blood bags before they burst yours. When a bag pops, crimson sprays across the cage. The crowd erupts. It's visceral, theatrical, and absolutely electric — equal parts athletic competition and rock & roll spectacle.
Because armed combat with weapons equalizes size and strength differences, men and women fight as equals — there are no weight classes, no gender divisions. The FWL is truly the people's combat league.
FOAM WEAPONS
Realistic-looking but safe foam rubber weapons — swords, axes, maces, bo staffs, and more. Each warrior chooses their signature Weapon of Choice.
BLOOD BAGS
Small bags of theatrical blood attached to costumes. Burst two of your opponent's bags to win. Creates dramatic visual impact for the audience.
THE CIRCLE OF COMBAT
A reinforced steel-and-plexiglass octagonal cage. Intimate enough for the audience to feel every hit, secure enough for maximum warrior intensity.
CHARACTER CREATION
Every warrior creates an original character with a unique name, costume, backstory, and fighting style. Your identity is your brand.
THE EXPERIENCE
THE WALKOUT
Flame jets erupt. The bass drops. Warriors make theatrical entrances with their own walkout music, pyrotechnics, and character-specific performances that would make a WWE entrance look tame. The crowd is already screaming before a single blow is struck.
THE BATTLE
Three rounds of pure, unhinged combat. Warriors clash with realistic weapons — steel-looking swords, battle axes, war hammers — targeting blood bags while the crowd surges against the cage. Judges score hits, technique, showmanship, and raw crowd energy.
THE AFTERMATH
The cage opens. One warrior stands victorious, splattered in fake blood, arms raised to a deafening roar. Winners advance in the bracket. Losers plot their revenge. Every battle builds legends and obsessive fanbases.
